On August 16 the Middle School students came back together and started to reconnect. We were all excited to see each other and share summer adventures with each other. Some had fun summers with friends, on trips, and camps. One of our students went on a military sleep away camp for one week! Others, traveled with their families in the U.S. and abroad while others had fun at home. We also shared the exciting books that we all read over the summer, including assignments we created. Viren Talati made a maze about the book “Who Moved My Cheese?” The book is about adapting to change, rather than trying to fight it.
The Middle School students also made kindness cards for every student and teacher in the school. We put a lot of love in the cards. The students were extremely happy to receive the letters, and some of the parents were talking about it on social media websites such as Facebook. Ms. Karin, our technology specialist even took a video of her son’s (Maxwell Jones) reaction. The Narwhal room sent the Middle School a thank you note which is hanging up in our classroom.
On Friday, we created art with Ms. Angie. Ms. Angie teaches Spanish and art. For this art project, we created a piece of art using oil pastels and they were all amazing. This drawing can be bought by parents in different forms, such as a mouse pad, cutting and much more. We all had a lot of fun with Ms. Angie.
The Middle School had a great first week, and we are all excited to be back. These are just a few of the things we did during this week, and there will be a lot more to come.
Watch for the Middle School Blog Weekly.
