International Day of Peace is a beautiful day celebrated all around the world on September 21. International Day of Peace is a day where everyone gather together and celebrates peace. This holiday was first celebrated in 1982 to strengthen peace. It was first declared by the UN to thank everyone who has worked hard fighting for peace.
Students made their own shinobi t-shirts to celebrate International Day of Peace and joined together on the playground holding hands and standing in a circle singing and using sign language. We, the middle school students placed our peace pole in the middle of the playground to make things more interesting. Ms. Kate, our new head of school, also brought her dog Monte dressed in his own blue Sun Grove shirt to celebrate this special event.
